The glory we seek

After everything,
Is this what we are to become?
This mix-and-match
This held-together-with-tape
This gasping-for-breath
This limping-along
This making-it-by-the-skin-of-teeth
This wearied-by-footmen
Is this what we are to become?
This is not glory.

Hosea 7:8- ‘Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.’

Jeremiah 12:5-‘If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?’

Eph 1:17-19- ‘That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.’
