Lately, I find that I am tired of fighting. I am tired of being pushed down by the devil, by the world, time and time again. Sometimes, I just want to give up. But the Bible says that a righteous man falls 7 times and rises up again(Proverbs 24:16). It is not so much the falling down but the getting up that is key. He pushes us down again and again until there is no more resolve to stand. He sows the seed of doubt in us and that is where we become comfortable in our flesh and so we do not want to fight with it. Yet the very essence of Christ in us us a yearning for perfection-‘Christ in you, the hope of Glory’, Paul writes in Colossians 1:27. God did not bring us into His tabernacle only for us to pause at any point, build a tent wherever we are comfortable. The anchor holds within the veil, the anchor is a promise, the promise of total light in place of darkness. Our goal is to break through that veil-our flesh until we reach that place of the mercy seat which is the experience of perfection- a perpetual longing for and in filling of Christ. We cannot wait for too long, lest the time to flee come upon us when we are in the time of winter, or a time when we give suck. No matter where we are, no matter where we have stopped, no matter our current situation, it is time for us to be strengthened, to arise, and to go forth toward that perfection, for there is time no longer.

Help me to see I’m not my own
I give all that I am to thee
For the love that you have shown to me
I’ve wondered all around the world
And found that there is nothing more
Than all you are and what you hold
There’s no other fulfilling goal
Maybe someday we could have made it
Maybe we could have won the fight
Alas! Our hearts were deficit
And so we never saw His light
It is not a tragedy
Not a mournful song we sing
No, this is what it is-
Our weak and selfish beings
It was impossible to imagine
The feat that would bring us to our knees
No one would know where to begin
Only the Saviour can release
